Vincentians in New York to aid Haiti

Vincentians in New York City are expected to turn out by the hundreds in support of a major drive that has been dubbed: “Vincentians to Haiti: The Help-A-Thon”.{{more}}

This event takes place on Saturday, February 6, on the premises of Standard Shippers Inc., located at 3116 Clarendon Road (between East 31st and East 32nd Streets) in Brooklyn, from midday to 6:00pm.

On this day, Vincentians will come together ,bringing a variety of supplies to be placed in containers and shipped to the people of Haiti. Spokesperson Junior “Soca” Jones stated that no monetary donations will be accepted and is requesting the masses to purchase whatever they wish to donate, adding that no donation is too big or too small. Attendees will also hear addresses from various dignitaries and community leaders and be treated to performances by leading Vincentians artistes.

Organisers are hoping to make this an afternoon of Vincentian unity and togetherness as individuals have already offered to bring along refreshments for those present.
