Digicel to the rescue
Digicel has once again helped to improve the living conditions of one of its customers.
This time it is Union Island resident Rosetta Alexander who is lucky enough to have been blessed by EC$10,000, compliments the bigger better network. Alexander on Monday collected the money from Marketing Executive at Digicel Edmund Joachim during a short handing over ceremony held at Digicelâs Corporate Offices in the Lewis Building on James Street.{{more}}
But what is unique about Alexanderâs luck is that it came after some bad luck. According to the smiling woman, she had approached a local bank just a few days before seeking a loan to purchase a water tank that would have made life easier for the dry season on Union Island.
âThe bank turned down the loan for the exact same amount,â recalls Alexander, who revealed that the prize money from Digicel will go towards purchasing the new water tank.
âI consider myself lucky and I feel real good,â stressed Alexander, who said that when she got the call she thought someone was playing a trick on her. The excited woman, who has been using Digicelâs services since the company broke the monopoly here a few years ago, said to Digicel: âThis is the first time I have won anything in my life and I would like to urge Digicel to keep up the good work and continue to give us reliable service.â
Alexander won the money when she texted CASH to 7171.
Commenting, Marketing Executive Edmund Joachim said: âWe at Digicel are happy to be able to reward our customers. It pleases us to know that we are contributing to a better way of life, and we are happy that we can contribute something significant to our customers after they support our networkâ.
