Ash family entertained

Last Sunday evening, the tables turned as hosts Kenneth Ash and his wife, “the Pioneer of Christmas Lights” in SVG, found themselves being entertained instead by SVG’s connoisseurs of Saxophone: Lio Smith, Tenor; Calvin Glasgow, Alto, and Syl Mc Intosh, Soprano.{{more}}

The Trio, though not a permanent group, is considered by many as the nation’s oldest and ‘goldiest’ in the business today. But on this rare occasion and in the true spirit of Christmas, they blended their horns in harmony and serenaded the Ash family and friends on a journey down memory lane, rendering some of the popular “back-in-time music” of the 1940’s and 50’s.

The mode for the evening’s session was earlier punctuated by the versatile and talented duo “Ken Isles and Son” with their usual wide and varied repertoire of ballads, Rock’n’ Roll, Reggae, vintage Kaiso and Oldies as well.

The members of the Nine Mornings Committee were on hand to pay personal tributes to Mr Ash for his role in the development of the Nine Mornings Festival.
