Post-paid customers cash in on Digicel’s loyalty rewards

As part of their continued efforts to make sure that their customers always get what they ask for, Digicel’s postpaid subscribers have been added to the company’s loyalty scheme programme.{{more}}

Digicel’s loyalty scheme in the past sought to reward all of Digicel’s pre-paid customers with EC$1000, now post paid plan holders will get paid, too.

So with this in mind, Marketing Manager at Digicel Juno DeRoche handed over EC$1000 each to the first two post-paid customers to be selected. The two EC$1000 cheques were given to Shellyanne Gumbs, of Prospect and John Tash of Arnos during a short presentation ceremony held on Monday at Digicel’s Corporate Offices located in the Lewis Building on James Street.

Commenting, Gumbs, who is a domestic worker, said that she has been a post paid customer for the last six years.

“I feel good about getting this money, and I will be using it to do some work on my house. I will like to say thanks to Digicel and I will continue to use the service”, said Gumbs, who described the money as “my first Christmas gift for 2009”.

Tash, who is the General Manager at Frank B Armstrong (St.Vincent) Limited, said that he, too, has been with Digicel since the company opened its doors here. He added that the service has been “pretty good”, and said: “I feel good that I finally got something back. I would like Digicel to keep up the good service and keep adding new features as you go along”.

According to DeRoche, “Post-paid customers are always complaining that there is more for pre-paid, so we looked at it and said you know what, if you can pay $10 on your bill you should be eligible to win a $1,000, too.” DeRoche added: “A post-paid bill is minimum $45, so the post-paid customers are committed to spend at the end of the month, and they, too, are considered loyal customers, and each loyal customer needs to be rewarded.”

Meanwhile, during the same handing-over ceremony, 22 pre-paid customers also received the EC$1000 loyalty money, bringing the total amount of money given away on Monday to EC$24,000. Persons collecting their winnings were: Marigold Roberts, Niasha Williams, Janelle Ollivierre, Kison Jackson, Theodore Velox, Lambert Timothy, Joy Alexander, Nelcina Campbell, Kevin Williams, Raymond Cruze, Stuart Gill (collected for Cedric Mills), Ronelia Fergus, Franklyn John, Jane Sam and Octavie Gabriel.

DeRoche used the opportunity to speak about the Christmas promotion “All I want for Christmas”, which will see a lucky Digicel customer on Sunday, January 31, 2010, get the opportunity to choose either a piece of land, a brand new Nissan vehicle or a vacation every year for five years. DeRoche said that during the Yuletide season, persons who buy a handset or new SIM card, pay their bill on time, top up $25 or more or text CASH to 7171 will be entered in a draw that if they are chosen as the grand prize winner will afford them the opportunity to choose one of three prizes, all of which are valued at EC$100,000.

The Marketing Manager also spoke about other promotions that seek to give back to its customers. She said that post-paid customers who pay their bill on time can win an EC$1000 shopping at C. K Greaves Supermarket, as well as an US$500 internet shopping spree on Ezone. Other Christmas promotions include team ups with IK TV and Hitz FM, where customers can win prizes, including Nokia cellular phones and a grand prize of an EC$1000 shopping spree at Fine Things.
