Gonsalves also showered praises on other regional and international bodies as he acknowledged World AIDS Day, commemorated on December 1 each year.

According to the prime minister, the organizations that he recognised have been doing tremendous work in fighting the epidemic and its consequences.

He, however, used the opportunity to focus on stigmatization.

To this end Gonsalves lauded the Ministry Health for building greater understanding and reducing “significantly the extent of stigmatization of those who suffer from HIV and AIDS”.(HN)
