North Leeward Tourism gets EC$12,000 from Netherlands
The North Leeward Tourism Organization has received a EC$12,000 donation to assist with its internal development.{{more}}
A cheque was handed over to the organization by the Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands Hans Horbach on Monday, October 26, 2009, during a short ceremony at the Professional Secretarial Institute in Kingstown.
Making brief remarks at the ceremony, Horbach spoke about his trip to St. Vincent last year and his interaction with the people of North Leeward. He added that he was impressed by the initiative of persons to improve their life there.
Erasto Roberts, President of the organization expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador saying that the donation will go a long way in taking the organization to a âhigher level.â The North Leeward Tourism Organization is a non-profit organization with responsibility for the management of tourism sites in North Leeward.
Parliamentary Representative for North Leeward Jerrol Thompson, delegates from the Netherlands and members of the NLTO were also at the ceremony. A similar donation was made in 2004 to the Liberty Lodge Boys Training Centre.(OS)
