9 Vincentian cops promoted in Turks and Caicos Islands

Nine Vincentians in the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force were promoted to higher ranks last week.

Clifford Ashton, Kenville Charles, Kingsley Laborde, Innis Grant, Lionel Mapp, Shawn Billingy, Winston Diamond, Glennroy Mitchell and Grantley Williams, all originally from St. Vincent, have now attained ranks ranging from Sergeant to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).{{more}}

Clifford Ashton, who has been promoted to ASP, is originally from Coulls Hill. He has been a member of the Turks and Caicos Police Force for the last 24 years.

Kenvill Charles, Kingsley Laborde and Innis Grant have been promoted to the rank of Inspector. Charles is second in command of the Financial Crime Unit, while Laborde, originally from Rose Hall, is the officer in charge of SPICE (Special Police Immigration Custom Enforcement) Division B, Providenciales Island. He has served for twenty years. Inspector Ennis Grant, a 17-year veteran from Hopewell, Mesopotamia, has been appointed Commissioner’s staff officer.

Lionel Mapp, Shawn Billingy, Winston Diamond, Glennroy Mitchell and Grantley Williams are all now Sergeants. Mapp, who has served for eight years, is from Layou and has been assigned to Beat and Patrol. Billingy, from Yambou, and Diamond from Mesopotamia, have both served for six years and have been assigned to traffic enforcement. Glenroy Mitchell, with eight years service, is originally from Sion Hill. He has been assigned to Airwing and Border Protection. Williams, from Barrouallie, has served for six years and is assigned to the Financial Crime Unit.
