The SVG Salsa Club was officially launched in 2006 at Roy’s Inn (now Grenadine House), and hosts yearly workshops for various age groups and dance enthusiasts. This year, youngsters and adults will enjoy summer classes at the Peace Memorial Hall.

The classes for youngsters are generally held twice weekly in two age categories, pre-teens ages 8 to 12 years, and teens, 13 and older. Pre-teen and teens courses include dance technique, introduction to Latin dance culture and history, Latin music cd’s, and course certificate presented at a graduation event.

Both adults and teens can register at the Peace Memorial Hall and join the growing numbers of Vincentians willing to explore their interest in the exotic and diverse cultures and music of Latin origin.

Salsa Dance Fever 2009 will offer a great introduction to the new-comers who desire to learn the dance or just want to watch, as well as provides a venue for Latinos to celebrate their cultures and the music of their homelands, while away from home.

The event, will also provide existing club members, dance students and salsa enthusiasts an opportunity to showcase their talents, in a light informal setting, with the Latin sounds of salsa, merengue, cha-cha-cha and more provided by Latin DJ frenzy, as well as dance hits from the 80’s and 90’s by the Gruvmaster.

The event intends to allow everyone to feel energized to get up and join in the fun, with exciting twist, turns, spins and dips, while you dance to the merengue, salsa, cha-cha-cha and more.
