Symposia on CSME to continue next week
The series of symposia organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Commerce and Trade, focusing on the âRevised Treaty of Chaguaramas Establishing the Caribbean Community Including the CARICOM Single Market and Economy – CSMEâ will continue next week.{{more}}
Next weekâs session will look at the Communityâs Transport Policy which is aimed at providing adequate, safe and internationally competitive transport services for the development and consolidation of the CSME. It will also examine the section of the Treaty dealing with Disadvantaged Countries, Regions and Sectors, for which the purpose is to establish a regime to enhance their prospects for successful competition within the Community and redress any negative impacts with respect to the CSMEâs implementation.
The discussions will be led by representatives of the CARICOM Secretariat, the CARICOM Development Fund and officials of the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Next weekâs symposium takes place on Tuesday, June 2nd, from 9:00 a.m. at the Conference Room of the National Insurance Services on Upper Bay Street. Participants are drawn from senior levels within the Government Service and the private sector.
It will be the third in the series of four (4) symposia organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Commerce and Trade, looking at the provisions of the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas.
