Gumbs graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems and Health Information Management from the college, which is located in Duluth, Minnesota in the United States Of America.

Petrus is presently the only Vincentian national attending Saint Scholatica. He left St. Vincent in 2005 after attending the Petersville Primary School, The St Martin’s Secondary School, The St. Vincent Community College and The St. Vincent Teachers’ College.

Gumbs taught Social Studies and Physical Education at the St. Martin’s Secondary School, before migrating to the United States. He has already placed his skills and talents to use, by leading a team of three, in assisting a non-profit organization in reorganizing their information system and helping them save at least US$5,000 per month in support and maintenance.

The college is a privately owned Catholic college and bases its teaching on Benedictine values. Petrus is planning on returning to St. Vincent, in the hope of using his skills and talent to help his country in the area of implementing electronic medical records.

He expressed thanks to his parents, family, the catholic church and friends for their love and support throughout the years of completing his studies.
