Soroptimists International makes donations to groups
Definitely not an organisation that clutches tightly to its purse strings, the Soroptimists International (St. Vincent), made generous donations to three organisations at a brief handing over ceremony, which took place on Tuesday, May 12.{{more}}
Recently elected President of the Soroptimists International, Shirla Little, presented representatives from The Helping Hands Centre, Association for People with Disabilities and House of Hope Society with cheques for EC$600, $1,500 and $1,000, respectively.
The funds were raised from various fundraisers that the Soroptimists hosted over the past year. They included a Valentineâs Day luncheon, and cocktails and carol-singing events.
The representatives included, Annis John, Coordinator at the Helping Hands Centre; Irrith OâGarro, Secretary at the House of Hope Society, and Junior Bacchus, President of the Association for People with Disabilities.
All very grateful for the donations, the representatives shared the ways in which the donations would be employed, and encouraged the Soroptimists to continue their well-meaning efforts to raise funds for the less fortunate. âContinue your hard work!â Bacchus encouraged. (JSV)
