Iranians visiting Argyle airport
A five-member team of engineers from Iran began a six-day fact finding mission to St Vincent and the Grenadines on Wednesday, May 20th.
The visit is a follow up to the recent visit of Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves to Iran in which he sought assistance for the construction of the international airport at Argyle.{{more}}
The engineers, in keeping with Iranâs promise of technical and other assistance will be seeking to get a general understanding of the project, and to assess the earthworks that have been done so far. They will be paying particular attention to the Apron component of the runway which they have offered to pave.
The contingent arrived on Wednesday evening and is expected to depart the state on Tuesday May 26th.
On the Prime Ministerâs return earlier this month from an overseas trip which took him to several countries, he revealed that in addition to Iran, Portugal and Libya have also offered assistance for the construction of the international airport at Argyle.
