The visit of the Sports Officers to the furniture and appliance store was part of Courts Customer Celebration package, which seeks to promote healthy living.
Samantha Lynch, Assistant Sports Officer in the Ministry of Sports, said it is important for persons to exercise and to eat right in order to live a healthy, longer, life. She disclosed that the Ministry has fourteen exercise classes at various times and venues around the country, and invited persons to come out and get fit.
Lynch also commended Courts on their initiative, saying that it will prolong the lives of the customers, and also help persons to come in and purchase items.
The sports officials performed demonstrations from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, which included exercises using machines such as the Total Gym 1700 Club machine and a lively aerobics session which caught the attention of one customer who decided to join in.
âI enjoyed it very much,â Natasha John, a regular customer, said. John also encouraged others to come down to Courts to participate. âItâs a good idea; getting fit is the best thing to do,â she said.
The Courts Customer Celebration runs until the Thursday, 21st May, 2009, and includes participation from other organizations such as the Ministry of Health, the Blood Bank Unit, Mountain Top Water and Villa Mar Ltd.
