UNESCO approves four new projects in SVG

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines UNESCO National Commission has received approval for the funding of four projects submitted to UNESCO under the Participation Programme for the 2008 – 2009 Biennium.{{more}}

The Participation programme is a UNESCO facility whereby member states receive grant funds for initiatives undertaken by NGOs and Government Agencies. The projects approved are as follows: The establishment of the Girl Guide Association Education Resource Centre; The enhancement of science in primary schools by the provision of science equipment; The SVG Cadet Corps programme for building disaster response mitigation; The Public Library’s ICT development project.

The projects are being implemented at the total cost of US$100,000.
