National Trust has new Executive
A new eight-member board of directors has been elected to run the affairs of the St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) National Trust for the next tree years.{{more}}
Tuesdayâs elections saw the departure of past chair Kathy Martin from the board, as Martin decided not to stand for re-election because she wants to concentrate on writing.
In delivering the chairâs report, Martin named some of the achievements of the Trust during her tenure which include a trust fund that has already reached half of its EC$1 million target and the declaration of the Carnegie building on February 4 this year as the first protected heritage building in SVG.
In an emotional tribute to the out going Chair, Deputy Chair Louise Mitchell-Joseph thanked Martin for her contributions and dedication to the institution and presented her with a plaque. Mitchell-Joseph also informed Martin that she will be called upon in the future for her expertise, guidance and uncanny ability for fund raising.
The Elections were conducted by Phillip Cambridge and the new board consists of incumbents Adrian âTariâ Codogan, Hallam Daize, Descima Hamilton, Louise Mitchell-Joseph and Fitzgerald Providence. Mark Lolly, John Renton and Andrew Woodroffe will be serving on the board for the first time. (AC)
