SJCK Young Leaders hold symposium

The Young Leaders of the St. Joseph’s Convent Kingstown held a symposium at the school’s premises on Wednesday, 4th March.{{more}}

The purpose of the symposium was to discuss the advantages of implementing renewable energy sources as opposed to the traditional burning of fossil fuel and coal to produce energy.

The group was fortunate to draw on the knowledge of three individuals who are well versed on the topic. They were Lennox Lampkin, Andrew Simmons, from GEMS organisation, and Phillip Jackson, representing the Ministry of Science Technology and Industry.

All the speakers were advocates for using renewable energy sources such as solar and biomass as one of the most effective ways of reducing the effects of global warming.

Also attending the symposium were other young leaders from Secondary Schools in the Kingstown district.
