New air cargo courier service begins in SVG

Persons returning home with extra bags can breathe a sigh of relief because help is on the way to ease the frustration of baggage that is left behind.{{more}}

A same day bag shuttling service is just one of the many services that will be offered by the Caribbean Freight and Courier Limited when it begins operating here next month.

At a recent press conference, Managing Director of the new entity Ricardo Drayton said that the company’s aim is to present a dedicated air-cargo service to the region.

Drayton said that the company will also be operating “a home grown” air cargo courier service called SwiftPac.

He told reporters that the operation, which will begin in the Southern Caribbean with plans for expansion to the Northern Caribbean costs $1 million to set up and will be the answer for companies and individuals who face problems moving cargo around the region.

He said that the service will be affordable and can be used also by the “common man”, including farmers and fisher-folk who want to move their produce.

Drayton said that his company has already received calls of congratulations and blessings from leaders around the region, including this country’s Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves.

Also addressing the media was Martha Ramos of Miami based company Pakya, strategic partners of the Caribbean Freight and Courier Limited.

She said that the new company will change the way Vincentians “operate and expect things and demands things.” (KJ)
