WINFA at Fairtrade Fortnight 2009
The Windward Islands Farmersâ Association (WINFA) will be strongly represented at the launch of the Fairtrade Fortnight 2009.{{more}}
The Fairtrade Fortnight 2009, which is to be held in South Bank, London, will be witnessed by participants from varying countries, including the Windward Island, represented by a delegation of Fairtrade farmers from St. Lucia, Dominica, and the Co-ordinator of WINFA, Renwick Rose.
Other members of the Windwards delegation include Cornelius Lynch and Stephanie Joachim, of the Fairtrade Organizations in St. Lucia and Dominica, respectively.
The Fairtrade Fortnight is an annual event which takes place in Europe to draw attention to the issues around Fairtrade and the many challenges encountered by producers in their own countries, including the Windward Islands.
The delegation is expected to return to their islands on February 28, 2009.
