Handing over the books at the Kingstown Preparatory School on Thursday, February 12, Clarke said that the National Executive Committee was created to coordinate activities of the various Vincentian associations in the UK.

The booklet, which was produced by the committee, explores how various Vincentian associations began in the 60s and 70s, and provides a history of the various associations and of the National Executive Committee.

Receiving the books on behalf of the Ministry of Education was Senior Education Officer Sylvia Sayers. She expressed her gratitude for the donation, which she said is a welcomed initiative at a time when the country is focusing on building and establishing partnerships with Vincentians in the Diaspora.

Sayers said that Vincentian associations in the UK have always made tremendous contributions to St Vincent and the Grenadines in the areas of health, hurricane aid and education, in the form of teaching aids, books and scholarships.

The booklets will be distributed to schools across the country.
