General Manager Mark Isaacs said the company had decided to put this second supermarket in Kingstown to facilitate the many customers in the capital city that would like to buy the many quality food products that the company sources from around the world but cannot spare the time out of their busy schedules to travel out to Calliaqua where the company is based.
Gourmet Food offers a wide variety of food products that you do not usually find in the other regular supermarkets, and this appeals to many customers who require something different. They specialize in all sizes of shrimp, many types of fillet fish, many cuts of quality meat, European sausages and individually frozen vegetables, French bread baguettes and specialty loaves. A wide selection of wine, and high quality juices are also available.
Isaacs said the Cruise Ship Terminal is ideal for Gourmet Food because of the high quality environment which suits the companyâs style of business.
âAny member of the general public can easily access the cruise facility, and ample parking is free. We are going to offer some extra items that we donât currently offer, such as freshly baked French bread baguettes with a variety of fillings, Swedish pastries, deli products, European expresso coffee, and wine sampling.
âCustomers can come relax at one of our tables and enjoy a coffee or a glass/ bottle of wine, in a relaxed atmosphere, served by a customer-friendly member of the Gourmet team, and then pick up some quality food products to carry home and experiment with in the kitchen,â said Isaacs.
The opening date is to be announced soon.
