Speaking at the handing-over ceremony, on Tuesday, February 10, at the Digicel offices in Kingstown, Vance Garraway who represented St. Vincent Brewery Ltd, a sponsor of the event, hailed Can Fest as ‘a massive, massive show”. He even suggested that it should become an annual calendar event because of its popularity.

Juno DeRoche, Marketing Manager of Digicel also commended the group R.O.K Entertainment on an excellent show and encouraged other businesses and co-operatives to support the group in their “constructive” efforts to give back to the community.

The R.O.K Entertainment group handed over canned goods to several non-profit, government and charity organizations, including the House of Hope Society, the Salvation Army, the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital Children’s Ward and SVG Plus, an organization for persons living with and affected by the HIV/AIDS virus. A significant amount of canned foods has also been given to Haiti, according to Juno De Roche, to assist the country which was ravaged by four hurricanes last year.

Plans are in progress for a Can Fest 2009 with the support of the sponsors behind the group. “As long as we have the support of sponsors, R.O.K Entertainment would make that commitment,” Romaine Reed, member of the R.O.K group said.
