Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technicians to form association
Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technicians here will soon launch their own association, which is expected to encourage high standards of quality, design, safety and workmanship in that industry.{{more}}
The establishment of this association was born out of the activities for the Terminal Phase out Management Plan under the Montreal Protocol.
The Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Techniciansâ Association of St. Vincent & the Grenadines or RACTA will comprise six classes of membership. These include Chartered Members; Honorary Members; Associate Members; Individual Members; Student Members and Corporate Members.
RACTA will seek to promote and defend all sectors of the refrigeration and air-conditioning industry; assist in the standardization of the industry; provide the Government, public bodies and others with facilities for conferring with those engaged in the industry and conduct market research, collect and provide statistical information.
The association will also, among other things, promote exhibitions and fairs in connection with the industry and obtain publicity for the industry.
RACTAâs launch will take place on January 31st, 2009, at the Grenadine House, commencing at 7:00pm.
This ceremony will also form part of an Awards ceremony for 30 technicians who recently completed training in âGood Practices, Recovery, Recycling, Reuse and Retrofitting of Fixed Systemsâ.
