The donation was made on Thursday, January 15, 2009, at the Bedford Street branch of the Bank. The donations were realized through the collaborative efforts of the staff of all NCB branches throughout the country.

Staff members contributed clothing, food, games and other items to the St. Benedict’s Day Nursery. A cheque for EC$500 was also given to Rodney King, a 16-year-old student of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, now on dialysis treatment at his home at New Montrose.

Speaking to Searchlight, Rodney’s Mother, Rosette King, related how grateful she is to the NCBSC for their donation. “I feel very happy,” she said.

Rodney will be traveling to Trinidad to have a kidney transplant. The money will be used to assist in his medical expenses.

Also receiving donations was Sister Nyra Anne Pajotte of the St. Benedict’s Day Nursery. Sister Nyra thanked the club for its generous donation and encouraged the NCBSC to continue with its goodwill to others.(OS)
