Twelve get CED awards
Twelve of this countryâs business places and entrepreneurs were last weekend awarded for their work and dedication by private sector development agency Business Gateway.{{more}}
Business Gateway, through the Centre for Enterprise Development (CED), presented five businesses and seven individuals with plaques for their work in training, operations and promoting at their inaugural dinner awards ceremony as the European Union (EU) funded organization marked its first anniversary at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown.
Under the theme âGrowth, Innovation, Excellenceâ, the recipients were awarded in four categories.
In the Outstanding Achievement in Promoting Customer Service category, awards were handed out to The National Commercial Bank, The St. Vincent Electricity Services (VINLEC), Central Water and Sewerage Authority, and the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Broadcasting Corporation.
In the Consistent Investment in Business Training category, awards went to the General Employees Co-operative Credit Union, Bernard Joseph, Vincent Reid, Schwmon Peters and Sharon Little.
Awards for Significant Improvement in Business Operations went to Miguele DesPointes and Ricardo Primus, while Monica Thomas-Woodley received the Dedicated Service to Business Development- Customer Service award.
Saturdayâs event heard remarks from a manager of the Business Gateway Project, Simone Murray, as well as Minister of Telecommunications, Science, Technology and Industry, Dr. Jerrol Thompson and his Permanent Secretary Shirla Francis.
The speakers congratulated the awardees on their achievement and encouraged them, as well as other users of the Business Gateway Project, to continue to strive for excellence in the upcoming years.
