Malaysian envoy pays official visit

Malaysia’s High Commissioner Designate to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, His Excellency Ramlan Kimin, wound up a two-day official visit to St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Wednesday, November 12.{{more}}

On Monday, the High Commissioner presented his Letter of Introduction to His Excellency the Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne, at Government House. He also paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, Foreign Affairs Minister Sir Louis Straker and officials of both Ministries.

Discussions centred on strengthening economic and scientific cooperation between both countries.

High Commissioner Kimin is a career diplomat with over twenty years of experience in the Malaysian Foreign Service, covering protocol, political, bilateral and multilateral issues. He is based in Caracas, Venezuela, and is also accredited to Antigua/Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, St. Lucia, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines has enjoyed cordial relations with Malaysia since the 1980’s, and has benefitted from assistance in the areas of training for students, and is looking forward to further areas of collaboration, including the operation of the Argyle International Airport.
