Two Forestry Officers guided the tour which passed through Cocoa and reached to the Lumber Heap and Bubby Stone Mountain region. The banana cultivation of Samuel Pierre also know as Banana Doctor was outstanding.

Members of the heritage group were disturbed though, when they observed that some of the reforestation work was being destroyed by farmers who grazed their cattle in the young saplings. New cultivation of marijuana plants were also seen, breaking into the virgin forests at higher heights.

The 4 1/2 hour morning walk through the forests was refreshing rather than tiring, and there is talk of another hike soon. Meanwhile on Independence Day, Heritage Foods and Youth heritage Activities will be programmed throughout the community.
