Live airing of Digicel Rising Stars show begins this Sunday

This Sunday evening, October 4, the first of the Digicel Rising Star 2008 Television Shows featuring the first seven of the fourteen finalists will be aired from Barbados to viewers across the Eastern Caribbean.{{more}}
Beginning this Sunday, the two contestants chosen from each island will battle it out before a live audience to see who has what it takes to occupy, control and mesmerize an audience from the big stage.
The Live Shows as always are anticipated to be packed with excitement, surprises and upsets. Contestants will render two songs and as the competition progresses will be challenged by the judges on specific weeks to perform set genres of music.
Following their presentations the judges will have their say but ultimately itâs the viewers in the eight participating countries that will decide which three of the seven contestants will not make it back the following this week and next weekâs performances.
Contestants will once again compete for the title Digicel Rising Star 2008, US$10,000 cash, a recording contract and a top of the line Sony Ericsson handset.
The Live Shows will take place at the St. Gabrielleâs School, Collymore Rock, St. Michael, and commence at 6 p.m. each Saturday until the grand finale on November 15.
These are the contestants for the first round live show are Kimberley King of Antigua and Barbuda, Ruel Phillip of Anguilla, TBD of Barbados, Rhoda Joseph of Dominica, Kyron Charles of Grenada, Ishan Huggins of St. Kitts/Nevic, DaLonya Joseph of St. Lucia and Tamisha Nicholls of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Last yearâs winner was Tarina Simon of Dominica.
