KCCU National Dance Festival Finale at Peace Mo tomorrow
The cream of the crop from each category in the 8th edition of the Kingstown Cooperative Credit Union sponsored National Dance Festival will take to the stage of the Peace Memorial Hall tomorrow for the grand Finale.{{more}}
More than ten individuals and groups will perform before the judges, vying for awards ranging from most outstanding solo and duet to most outstanding group or schools and most promising dancer.
A congeniality award will also be given to the school or group displaying the highest level of amicability during the preliminaries.
Schools and groups competing in Saturdayâs finals include the Canouan Primary School, the Mary Hutchinson Primary, CW Prescod, Biabou Methodist, Bishopâs College Kingstown, Union Island Secondary, The Junior Dance Club, Renaissance Dancers, KLT Dancers and the Diadem Dancers.
The dancers had performed in the traditional, creative folk, popular, social and modern dance categories in the preliminaries which began on September 13th.
Following the finals, 12 dancers will be selected to become members of the National Dance Company. (JJ)
