Four to represent SVG at CFNI quiz competition
Four students will represent St Vincent and the Grenadines at the Caribbean Food and Nutrition Institute (CFNI) regional nutrition quiz competition this October.{{more}}
This, after they beat out six other students at the national finals of the Rotary Secondary school nutrition quiz competition on Thursday, September 25th, at the Peace Memorial Hall.
Kimberly Henry, of the St Josephâs Convent Kingstown, took home the first place trophy, while Iasha Samuel, of the Mountain View Adventist Academy, was second.
Kaesey Blugh, of the Bequia Community High School, and Delisha Haywood, of the Emmanuel High School Mesopotamia, were third and fourth, respectively.
The other students received medals for their participation.
The regional quiz competition is scheduled for October 22 and 23 and the Vincentian students will take part via teleconference at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus in Richmond Hill.
Simeon Norton, Past President of the Rotary club, said his club is honored and proud to sponsor the competition. He gave the assurance that they will continue to pledge their support towards the competition.
âWe would continue to be involved in activities of this nature that (are) going to build up the young people of our countryâ Norton said.
