Cable & Wireless donates Computer to Vincy Flavours 2007 winner
Telecommunications provider Cable & Wireless has been very busy rewarding excellence. This time itâs to Vincy Flavours 2007 winner, Anesta Browne. Browne was rewarded with a desktop computer, a month free Broadband service (1 Mb) plus waiver of setup charges for a new broadband Internet connection for excellence in culinary arts.{{more}}
Vincy Flavours 2007, held under the theme âThe essence of tradition – savouring a cocktail of SVGâs Food and Beverage flavoursâ, was held at Heritage Square on November 17th 2007. This event had been held for the second year and featured culinary and Bartending competitions.
Executive Director of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Hotel and Tourism Association, Dawn Smith, expressed her delight with Cable and Wireless for its worthwhile intervention and said âcorporate entities need to get involved and show appreciation for our bartending and culinary skills. We believe that this kind gesture will go a long way to advance the objectives of Vincy Flavours which is a catalyst for culinary tourism. We truly appreciate this donation from Cable and Wireless.â
Sandra Matthews, Cable and Wireless Vice President Human Resources handed over the computer to Anesta Browne on September 17th, 2008 and commented âOur company rewards excellence whenever it is recognized. We have been rewarding students who excel at CXC and CSEC examinations and we are extremely proud to be donating this award to the culinary arts as well.â
Vincy Flavours 2008 takes place on Saturday 22nd November, under the theme âAppreciate an alternative… celebrate the rhythm of Vincentian food and drinkâ.
