Partners of the Americas was launched in St. Vincent and the Grenadines over twenty years ago. Under the leadership of Col. S. A. Anderson and Marjorie Jackson, the organisation made a worthwhile contribution to community and national development in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Over the years, however, programme activity decreased as funding patterns shifted, and human and financial resources became focused on other regions within the Partners of the Americas jurisdiction. However, the relevance of the organization to societal development has remained evident and there is an increasing urgency for action.

Against this background, the members of the organization have developed a Plan of Action with less emphasis on outside resources and will now re-launch the St. Vincent Chapter of Partners of the Americas. The organization is now fully re-chartered with its Long Island Partners.

The re-launch will take place at a Breakfast Meeting, scheduled for Monday, September 29th, 2008, at 8.00 AM, at the Cobblestone Rooftop Restaurant, Kingstown. Director of Planning Mrs. Laura Anthony-Browne and Queens Counsel Andrew Cummings will be the special guest speakers at Monday’s ceremony. Founding member Marjorie Jackson will also be honoured and recognized for her role in developing Partners of the Americas in St. Vincent.
