Last week Thursday, September 11, 2008, a small gathering of students, relatives and friends showed their respects to Cox in a brief ceremony.
Minister of Culture and Parliamentary representative for West Kingstown René Baptiste, in her remarks, said that everything changed around the world on September 11.
She said that students were invited to the service because it is âimportant that we inculcate the value of human life in themâ.
Andreâs mother Princina Cox thanked everyone for being at the ceremony and said the ceremony helped to strengthen her. She urged the students present to study and stay from criminal activity.
Two wreaths were laid in Coxâs memory. Before migrating to the United States, Cox was a resident of New Montrose. (VM)
