While still enjoying an extraordinary performance-packed year and still savouring her victory in the Ragga Soca Competition in this year’s Vincy Mas Programme, Danielle ‘Dani O’ Ollivierre was the recipient of a cheque for EC$1000 for winning the St. Hill Insurance Best J’ouvert Song Award. Her now regional and international hit song ‘Gimme More’ was adjudged the song best capturing the spirit of J’ouvert as a family event.

Ollivierre is into her second of three years in pursuit of a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Theatre and Dance and minoring in International Business Studies at the University of South Florida, Tampa.

This Award will be an annual feature on the St. Hill Insurance Company Limited support list of the National Festival.

Having awarded a scholarship of EC$1000 per term to Girls’ High School student Felicia George and a Bursary of EC$500 per term to St. Vincent Grammar School student Chad Greaves both in 2003, the St. Hill Company showed their appreciation to both students for the hard work put in and success rewarded to both students.

Greaves was successful in all nine subjects attempted at CXC level – achieving four grade ones, four grade twos and one grade three in subjects Biology, English A, English B and Information Technology (1), Geography, Mathematics, Physics and Spanish (2) and Chemistry (3), respectively, while George is yet to receive her grade in Music, but passed all other nine subjects with grades of one grade one, five grade twos and three grade threes in the subjects of English A(1), Economics, English B, Information Technology, Mathematics and Spanish (2) and Biology, Chemistry and Caribbean History (3), respectively.

Both students have been accepted as first year students of the Community College. In appreciation, St. Hill Insurance presented cheques of EC$2,000 to Greaves and EC$1,500 to George to assist with their post-secondary level sojourn.
