Preschool marks 20th anniversary
On Friday, September 5, 1998, the school opened its doors to accept its first students. Since then, the school has made progressive strides in molding the lives of young Vincentians.{{more}}
The school was the brainchild of Sydney Bute, now Assistant Pastor, who after consulting with Pastor Fedrol Mason, worked assiduously to bring it to reality. The school began with a population of thirty students and three teachers, Jillian Adams, Arie-Ann Harper and Martinette James. Among the aims of the school were service to the community and creating employment for young members of the church. Over the years this has grown to providing assistance to past students entering secondary school and assisting the needy. The present teachers: Noreen Mason and Yvonne John see the school as a ministry and an outreach. The schoolâs motto is âSaviour Like a Shepherd Lead Us,â indicating reliance on God for direction in every area of life.
The school has undergone many ups and downs but continues to offer quality education which caters for the physical, intellectual, moral, social and spiritual development of its students. Celebration of this great milestone includes a thanksgiving service to be held on Sunday, 5th October, at 3:00 P.M, at the church, and an Open Day in December. The year will culminate with a grand twentieth graduation ceremony in July 2009. Pastor Lennox Haynes, the teachers, the PTA, and members of the Lodge Village New Testament Church of God express gratitude to the parents and well wishers who have supported our preschool over the years. An invitation is extended to all past students, parents and members of the community to join in the celebration To God be the glory for these past 20 years!
