Peters is new president of SVG Life Underwriters

Victors Peters has been elected President of the Life Underwriters Association of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (LUASVG).{{more}}

At the association’s Annual General Meeting held on Thursday, August 14, at the Chamber of Commerce Conference Room, officers were elected to serve for the next two years. Peters, who represents Sagicor, has on his executive:

Phillip Cambridge (British American), Vice President; Naomi Porter (Sagicor), Secretary; Kenroy Mapp (Clico), Treasurer, and Mark Charles (British American), Public Relations Officer. Three Directors were also elected in the persons of Amos Phillips and Stephen Ollivierre (British American), and Jacinta Elliott (Clico).

One of the highlights of this meeting was the presence of members of the Executive of the Caribbean Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (CARAIFA), the umbrella organization of regional Life Underwriting associations. Remarks were made by CARAIFA’s President, Maxim Marquez; Education Council Chairman, William “Nat” Wiltshire; Regional Congress Director, Cecil Fredricks (all from Trinidad and Tobago). They gave an update regarding the activities and affairs of CARAIFA, as well as words of encouragement to the local association. Immediate past President of the local association Stanley Browne also made remarks.

Persons to head the various committees of the Association were named: Committee on By-Laws and Legislation, Phillip Cambridge; Committee on Finance, Kenroy Mapp; Committee on Membership, Amos Phillips; Committee on Public Relations, Mark Charles, and Committee on Social Activities, Angus Martin.
