The Election was chaired by the Grand President, The Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh, KT. Her nomination came from the Secretary General, Mr. Paul Davis CBE, of BCEL, and was seconded by Mr. Brian Watt CMG / Honorary Legal Adviser, after which she was unanimously elected by over 250 delegates representing 117 countries. It is the first time St. Vincent and the Grenadines will be represented at this level.

Miss Maloney would like through this medium to thank all to be elevated to such a prestigious position of BCEL and promised to perform her duties to the best of her ability and not to betray any confidence reposed in her, hence keeping the flag of St. Vincent and the Grenadines flying high. The next Conference will be held in Malta in 2012.
