Blind seeing clearly through Mountain Top

The National Society of and for the Blind is now better off financially. Last week, the organization was the recipient of a donation of EC$9,454.80 from Mountain Top Springs Ltd. Mountain Top generated the funds from the sale of its 500ml sports cap bottled water. The company donated 5 cents for every bottle sold.{{more}}

Kenneth DaSilva, Mountain Top’s Financial Controller, said “Our aim at Mountain Top is to increase public awareness and offer support to organizations that are at the forefront of social change but with little hope of conventional funding; hence, our alliance with the Society for the Blind as it works to demarginalize the blind and visually impaired community. Simply put, we at Mountain Top aim to make a difference.”

In addition to its profit sharing commitment, Mountain Top set up five gallon jugs at various banks throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines where monetary donations toward the cause were made. “I also take this opportunity to invite other business houses to join this fund raising venture. Let our service to the blind people of our country ripple through our society as we work towards enhancing their lives,” DaSilva said.
