School leavers graduate from job training programme

Twenty-six participants graduated from the 3rd Annual Eastern Caribbean Institute of Banking and Financial Services / Rotary Club of SVG / National Insurance Services Young Employee Socialization Training Programme for school leavers which commenced on Monday, August 11th, 2008, and concluded on Monday, August 18th, 2008.{{more}}

The Topics covered were: The Banking and Financial Services Sector Environment; Goal setting and action planning; Recent developments within the Financial services sector and new strategies for profitability; Management philosophy, values and benefits, management assumptions and myths; Writing job letters; resumes; Getting that job; Role plays; An introduction to the Eastern Caribbean Securities Market Personal Development; Service excellence; Telephone etiquette; Money matters-Personal financial management; Insurance pros and cons.

There was also a panel discussion on “Career pathing for College Graduates”.

Facilitators were from the Rotary Club, Financial Institutions and the Private Sector. Jua Charles received the Rotary Club of SVG award of $250 for the “Most Outstanding Participant”, while Kimroy Walters received the E.C.I.B. & F.S. President award of $250 for the “Most Outstanding Participant”.

Ninety-four students have so far graduated from this training programme in SVG over the past three years.
