The young artistes, ranging from ages six and sixteen, displayed their impressive musical talent to the gathering.
The five most outstanding singer awards went to: Shanique Browne, of Sion Hill, Tishorn Edwards, of Chateaubelair, Jayone Tucker, of Arnos Vale, Trizanna Atkins, of Rillan Hill, and Caran Gordon, of Chateuabelair. They all were awarded trophies and gifts.
Organiser Judith Jordan-Tucker said that she was extremely impressed with the talents possessed by the young ones. Tucker said that the children received a vast amount of exposure from the show, something they might not have gained elsewhere.
Jordan-Tucker said that it is her hope that Christians come to the realization that the programme caters for young people and is geared to steer them clear of todayâs crime and violence plagued society. She also added that their aim is to take the show to the different communities and expose the talents of other children.
Jordan-Tucker thanked the sponsors, Allanâs Bakery, Y De Lima, Cox and Richards Shipping agency and Randyâs Supermarket for their support throughout their venture.
The programme, which started in 2005, gives participants an opportunity to display their talent through the singing of gospel songs. Richard explained that it also provides an opportunity to raise funds to assist children with gifts, monetary contributions and school supplies.
The other organizer was Donna Richards.
