Mountain Top to donate over $9,000 to NSOFB

Mountain Top Springs Ltd will donate over nine thousand dollars to The National Society of and for the Blind. The funds were raised during a campaign in which Mountain Top contributed 5 cents from every sale of its 500ml sports cap bottled water to the Society.{{more}}

This campaign followed a commitment made by Kenneth DaSilva, Financial Comptroller of Mountain Top in December 2007 when he presented a cheque of one thousand dollars to assist the Society with its Christmas Activities. At that ceremony DaSilva said that his company will endeavour to assist the blind and visually impaired persons of St.Vincent and the Grenadines in their efforts to minimize the effects of sight loss and maximize their level of participation in daily life activities.

The company continues to demonstrate its support to organizations that are at the forefront of social change but with little hope of conventional funding. DaSilva said “Our aim at Mountain Top is to increase public awareness and offer support; hence, our alliance with the National Society of and for the Blind and other charitable, cultural and sporting organisations in St.Vincent and the Grenadines. We at Mountain Top are determined to make a positive impact on the quality of life in St. Vincent & the Grenadines.”

Over the years, Mountain Top has supported the St. Benedict’s Day Nursery and Infant Hospital, the Salvation Army and various sporting organisations and events including the Bequia Sailing Club during the Bequia Easter Regatta.

The public is asked to continue to support the National Society of and for the Blind through innovative fund raising initiatives, making financial contributions, by purchasing its Art and Craft and household items, or by simply volunteering well needed service.
