And when the dust finally cleared at the Drop Off party spot in San Souci, it was DJ Dappa, whose real name is Sheplan Joseph, and a dancing trio carrying the moniker ‘Cross Over’ who carried away the top prizes which included free credit from Digicel and a Sony Ericsson handset. These were handed over by Marketing Executive at Digicel Edmund Joachim.

The versatile DJ Dappa ate up the three other competitors with his bombastic style of playing and energetic turntable skills. Always interacting with the crowd, it was clear that the DJ who has been performing for just two and a half years now had the crowd support and also the expertise on the ones and twos. What was also evident from the start was that he was the better of the competitors, who were two other DJs from San Souci and one from the Greggs community.

Originally from San Souci, DJ Dappa will have to keep doing his best as he now has to wait to see who he will compete against in the final round of competition slated for the Aquatic Club on August 31.

“I won too easy,” said DJ Dappa. “I play here every Sunday and the people know me and I know I was going to win from the start,” said the very confident disc jockey who also added: “Winning is like nothing”.

Meanwhile, the Cross Over Dancers are looking forward to stomping their authority on the competition when the finals take place at the Aquatic Club. Hailing from Georgetown, the trio of two boys and one girl stole the show at Drop Off with a number of acrobatic moves and foot movements. They commented that they feel great to have won.

The next leg of the Green Synergy competition will be held in Barrouallie this Sunday, August 17, with the fourth round slated for Rabacca on August 24. The Finals at the Aquatic Club on August 31 will decide who will represent St.Vincent and the Grenadines on the regional level in both dancing and disc jockey skills.
