Stubbs resident Kiall Burtoft rode off with his brand new car from the Diamond Industrial Estate, where the raffle was staged in the presence of hundreds of patrons.
The self-employed man who had happy written all over his face told SEARCHLIGHT that he was really surprised his name was called as he was not looking forward to winning anything. He said he only purchased two booklets for the draw and, luckily for him, one turned out to be the lucky ticket that saw him winning the draw. âThis is mine, all mine, nice car, nice rims, nice stereo. I can say this is all love right here,â stated the thrilled Burtoft.
Owner of Absolute Auto Care, Asordo Bennett, said the idea of a raffle came about in February as a way of giving back to the Vincentian Public. The young businessman, who hails from Rillan Hill, said that the raffle did not come without its fair share of ups and downs, but turned out successful in the end.
Bennett said that they are working on an environmental project to combat the problem of environmental pollution and to develop a recycling programme. He reassured that there is more in store and said he will be putting on a huge event before end of year. He also said that one of his companyâs mandates is to make young people aware of the importance of education and being successful in life.
