Ambassador awards double winner Ronique Dellimore
Things just keep getting better for Miss St Vincent and the Grenadines and Miss Carival, Ronique Dellimore. Last Friday, August 8, Ambassador of the Republic of China on Taiwan to St. Vincent and the Grenadines Leo Lee handed over two cheques to the young Queen.{{more}}
After accepting the cheques at a brief ceremony held at the Taiwan Embassy, Ronique Dellimore expressed appreciation for the donation she received. The visibly delighted Dellimore said the experience she gained from entering both shows, has helped her âto grow as an individualâ. She also used the opportunity to thank everyone who supported her during the shows.
Meanwhile Ambassador Leo Lee congratulated the Carnival Development committee (CDC) for hosting a âvery successful and peacefulâ carnival this year. He stated that the Embassy of China (Taiwan) has been sponsoring carnival for a number of years now and they want to reaffirm their commitment to the annual festivity.
Minister of Culture Rene Baptiste, who has a dream of taking a steel band to Taiwan, mentioned that the relationship which has developed between the CDC and the Embassy has âblossomed and bloomedâ. The Minister, whose hope is to continue the great relationship, felt the handing over ceremony is one which âexpress(es) solidarity with the government of St Vincent and the Grenadinesâ.
