Guides offer service to VINSAVE summer programme

Some 10 Girl Guides from the number 8 Guide Company of St. Joseph’s Convent Kingstown are giving of their time and talents to the children of Vinsave.{{more}}

The Girl Guides are involved in working with the children who are attending the Vinsave Summer Programme 2008, which is being held under the theme “Promoting Children’s Creativity for a Violence Free Society”. The children are involved in a number of activities, including nutrition, arts and craft and field trips.

Meanwhile, Girl Guides Meisha Charles, Simone Veira, Brittany Cole, Olivia Haslam and Charleen Branch of the Nos. 1 & 3 Guide Companies of the Girls’ High School have donated and planted flowers in the Vinsave Garden as their Environmental Project. The Girl Guides stated that they are completing their 3-year programme leading towards the Chief Commissioner’s Award, which is the highest award a Guide can achieve.
