Four students awarded C&W secondary school scholarships

Cable and Wireless, this country’s only full service telecommunications provider, has awarded four secondary school scholarships for yet another year.{{more}}

At a presentation ceremony which took place on Monday at the St. Vincent Chamber of Commerce Conference Room, the 2008 Cable and Wireless scholarship holders were presented with their cheques for the new school year.

Every year Cable and Wireless awards four Secondary School scholarships, two to the children of staff members who had the best performance at the Common Entrance and two to external students who excelled at the exams.

The recipients of this year’s scholarships were Zonique Dublin, daughter of Lemuel Dublin, of Cable and Wireless, who will be attending Girls’ High School, Leonnis Wickham, daughter of Cable and Wireless employee Leon Wickham who will also be attending the Girls’ High School. The two external winners are Osricky Douglas of Georgetown, who will be attending the St Vincent Grammar School and Nylecia Williams of Fair Hall, who will be attending Girls’ High School.

Fidel Neverson, who was the second Cable and Wireless scholarship winner, was the feature speaker at the presentation. Fidel is the son of retired Cable and Wireless employee Dick Neverson.

The Cable and Wireless team wishes all of this year’s winners on going success in their studies.
