Vincy mas on Toronto lime
The visit by a camera crew from one of the most popular Internet entertainment websites is expected to boost the popularity of Vincy Mas and by extension St. Vincent and the Grenadines.{{more}}
During the Carnival season, a cameraman/photographer, host and producer from cyberspaceâs www.toronto-lime.com paid a visit to these shores, documenting aspects of âthe Hottest Carnival in the Caribbeanâ.
The crew, which comprised Karen Richardson, Brendon Ortiz and Jef Lo attended several premier events during the carnival season, which included the Soca Monarch, Miss Carival, Monday Jump up and the Fire Fete.
From these they produced 20-minute programs to be aired on their site.
Richardson, the teamâs producer indicated that a visit to St. Vincent and the Grenadines was on the agenda for some time, and the trip is expected to highlight the uniqueness of this countryâs premier festival.
âWe have been to the Cayman Islands and Jamaica Carnival, so our viewers are not being introduced to something new by coming here; what we are doing is showing a more original style of Carnival by coming to SVG.
âThere are people who still donât know about Vincy Mas, and on the other hand there are others who are looking to you guys more, thanks to the soca music going international through Zolah, Problem Child and others.â
The Canadian-born Richardson of Vincentian parentage said that the Canadian-based site intends to reach all areas through its visit and subsequent recordings.
Ortiz the showâs host and Lo the cameraman, are both Trinidadians working along with Richardson.
The team was scheduled to produce five 20-minute segments, comprising of not only Carnival action, but also historical and sight seeing pieces.

The teamâs visit was facilitated by among others the Carnival Development Corporation, Cable & Wireless, Grenadine House and the Ministry of Tourism.
