Niasha Mofford prepped for success

Niasha Mofford is a livewire, and if she applies that confidence and spunk to everything that she does, success must be a certainty for her.

The 11-year-old Enhams resident was one of the top performers in the recently concluded Common Entrance Examination, finishing sixth for girls and ninth overall. {{more}}

When SEARCHLIGHT spoke to the Kingstown Preparatory School student, she oozed with poise that is beyond her years.

Niasha said that the exam was a bit challenging, but she was confident that she would have done well because she put effort into her preparation.

She thanked her cousin Josette Jack, a third former at the Bishop’s College, who assisted her in her preparation. She also thanked her teachers and mother, Marcia, for their great support.

She said that she is looking forward to her new school but will be taking the next two months to “loosen up.”

She told SEARCHLIGHT that she is looking forward to traveling to New York, which she hopes will be in time for 4th of July celebrations. “I want to see the fireworks,’ she said.

Niasha said that when she is relaxing, she enjoys chatting online and listening music.

She is yet to decide what she wants to be when she grows up, opting to take a while in school before making up her mind on that.
