The two day event, held at the Methodist Church Hall on Monday and Tuesday, saw banks, credit unions and other financial agencies showcasing rates and special services, under the theme: “Enabling Business Financing: A Catalyst for Nation Building and Poverty Eradication.”

Speaking at the opening ceremony, President of the SVGSBA Marlon Stephenson urged small businesses to come on board with the association in order to maximize their benefits.

Stephenson, along with Felix Lewis, General Manager of CED, urged the participants to take advantage of the services provided by not only his organization, but also the various others.

He indicated that his organization was pleased to be associated with the Fair, and would be willing to work along with them on other projects.

The participants were also addressed by Minister of Telecommunications, Science, Technology and Industry Dr. Jerrol Thompson, who said that small businesses should not accept failure as an option.

Director of the CED Dr Julian Ferdinand delivered a presentation, speaking on the topic “Economic Diversification Through Private Social Development”.(JJ)
