Richardson awarded C&W Best Student after Remediation

Cable and Wireless, sponsor of the National Awards ceremony this week awarded Ronnie Richardson the first ever Cable and Wireless Award for the Best Student After Remediation.{{more}}

Ronnie a former student of the Barrouallie Secondary School received his award at the recently concluded National Awards Ceremony. Ronnie who is now a student at the SVG Community College pursuing studies in Law, was unsuccessful at the Common Entrance examination. However through hard work and dedication, Ronnie has worked his way from failure to attain top marks throughout his journey at the secondary and tertiary education levels. Ronnie attained ten CSEC passes in 2007 and with his zeal and positive work attitude is expected to continue doing well at the A’ Level College.

Angus Steele, Chief Executive Cable and Wireless, was very impressed when he found out of Ronnie’s achievements, “We at Cable and Wireless are extremely happy to be awarding this prize to such a deserving student. Ronnie has proven that setbacks in life can not only be overcome but can be used as a fuel to push forward to achieve great successes in the future. We look forward to next year’s awards so we can highlight other great students who have worked very hard to elevate themselves to be the best they can be, even after unfavorable educational circumstances”.

Ronnie, the second of five children, also received a financial scholarship valued at $1600 from Cable and Wireless, which he intends to use to assist in his studies. Ronnie is also a talented singer and debater and is definitely on his way to becoming a great lawyer.
