Courts Marketing Executive Alexis Harry-John said: “We are extremely happy to be staging another stand up comedy competition throughout the OECS region. Last year’s event was a huge success. The art form got the deserved respect which was long overdue.

“We are once again embarking on taking the artform to a higher level by creating a platform for comedians to showcase their talents. We are cognizant that there are so many precious jewels which we need to expose and harness”

John further stressed that the competition is geared towards identifying an individual who will be the “Courts Big Prize personality”.

Last year’s winner, Maurice Horne, walked away with the title and a $60,000 one-year contract. Horne, who played the role Mr. Swish in the Courts Cars campaign traveled extensively throughout the OECS region presenting the 2007 Suzuki Swifts to lucky customers who shopped last year during Courts Cars campaign.

The St. Vincent leg is scheduled for May 17th at Peace Memorial Hall. The winner gets $2000 and the right to represent SVG in the grande finale which will be held in SVG on June 21st, 2008, at the Aquatic Club. The winner will get a $40,000 Contract.

Registration forms are available at the Courts Kingstown branch. Entrants must be 18 years and older.
